As we transition into cooler weather I always recommend changing your linens to freshen the master, the guest room or even a bath.  In this case, lets focus on bed linens (my fav).  As I've said in the past, I need 'L.A." linens anonymous.  I am as crazy as a bed bug (creepy) for shams, sheets and spreads... Not a big shopper in most arenas, but when it comes to bedding I have so little control.<br>

In that vein, and based on a recent visit to Steinmart (they've got some decent home goods goin' on there now) I am now mad about <b>Matelassé</b> (mat-la-SAY.) Per Wikipedia it is <a href="http://www.khoahocsupham.com/search/label/house" target="_blank">a weaving or stitching t</a>echnique yielding a <a href="http://www.khoahocsupham.com/search/label/house" target="_blank">pattern that appears quilted </a>or padded.  The technique originated in France in the 18th century, which tells us it's a classic.   And looks like this:<br>

Like the items that I am now carting around in my trunk vascilating between gifting them to Good Will or attempting a sale at a local upscale consignment shop from which I'd receive a hefty $12 net,.  Frankly, it's  probably not even worth my time to shlep the out there and have the snooty consignment ladies look down their reading glasses at me as if I'd brought them a dead rat.<br>
